CURRICULUM
The curriculum at Bayview is based around a strong core supported with choice in the Creative, Manual and Performing Arts and Technology. ![]() All students study English, Mathematics, History, Geography, Science, Health and Physical Education and Faith and Values as core subjects from Year 7 to Year 10. These provide strong foundations for further study, vocation studies or work. At Bayview, the Language-other-than-English is Japanese. All year 7 students study Japanese. In Year 8, some students have an alternative program. For Year 9 and beyond, students study Japanese by choice. At Years 7 and 8, students experience a range of arts, crafts and technology in rotation. These include Art, Visual Communication, Food and Nutrition, Textiles, Technology, Media and Drama. At Years 9 and 10, students begin to specialize by selecting subjects from these areas in our elective program. Students may also elect to begin VCE studies whilst in Year 10, or commence TAFE studies. At Year 11 and 12, students select from a broad range of VCE studies. Some students participate in the VCAL program which is tailored for those intending to work or work related studies when they leave school. |
